How many times when you walk into a yoga studio do you see this kind of arrangment? I can totally understand why the need for two mats...when you're using a standard yoga mat you've got only 3mm of mat between you and the hardwood floors. That's not much to cushion and protect your knees. Yeah, you say, but these are cheap mats so I don't mind paying for two. Think again!
Embrace Activism premium (which IS our standard) yoga mats are 8mm thick...almost 3x thicker than the cheap sticky mats you can buy! And let's talk about price... I recently went into a local store and found some of those 3mm sticky mats from a well-known yoga products company. The retail price: $29.99...let's just say 30 bucks. So you think you're getting such a deal until, after a handful of classes, your knees are aching and you spring for another (cheap) mat. $60 dollars in now and you're only up to 6mm.
If you're not familiar with the metric system it might be difficult to compare millimeters(mm) to inches. One inch equals 25.4 millimeters. There are mats advertised as thick at 1/4in...those mats could also say they are 6.35mm thick. Again, Embrace Activism yoga mats provide more cushion. If a picture's worth a thousand words perhaps this will help highlight the difference. Which one looks like it would protect your knees better?
Your knees will thank you if you choose to go with Embrace Activism yoga mats straightaway AND you can pat yourself on your back for putting positive karma out into the world with 10% of your mat purchase (and any other Embrace Activism product) being donated to charity...investing in your health is good; making a difference for others is even better.
